Records have been tumbling since the new year from our youngest swimmers through to our senior swimmers. Ryan Carstairs (11 & under) reset the short course bar in 100 Free, 400 Free & 100 IM while Kieron Harris (14) improved the Long course 50 Fly & 50 Breast. Senior swimmer Oliver Kenny (19) smashed 6 English short course records (50/200 Breast, 50/200 Back 200 Fly & 200 IM.) Oliver's Backstroke events were also GB National records. For the girls, Libby Gotta continues to rewrite almost all the age group records adding 10 more to her name across the strokes. 13 Year old Lucy Jordan-Caws also had a great start to the year with records in 100/200 Fly & 100/200 Back. 16 Year old Shiona McClafferty added new records in the 200 Fly and 400 IM short course as well as the 200 Breast Long course. With Cat A records only just being published we have already had improvements this year from 16 year old Nicola McConnell who has already improved 14 records this year. 12 Year old Harvey Spoor notched up records in 50 & 200 Breaststroke while some of the clubs newest members also got in on the act with 15 year old Grace Crispinn15 year old improving the 200 & 800 free records as well as the 50 fly & Poppy Leaman (14) grabbing the 400 IM. 10 Year old Alice Kinsey set new records in 50 Free, 50 Back, 50 Fly & 200 Back after receiving word that she had finished 1st in the British Long Distance Postal Swim managing 3290 Metres in the allotted 1 hour time against over 100 swimmers Nationwide in her age group. Also amongst the awards was 10 year old Lily Cook at Oxford & Buckinghamshire competition. Well done to everybody.
