Nathan Young (20) has safely returned from the 5th World Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil with his coach for the event Steve McQuilliam. We would like to thank Steve for the time and effort he put in to ensure Nathan, our sole representative, was mentally and physically prepared for the event. Nathan competed in 6 events  50/100/200 Free & Fly setting no less than 5 personal bests and reaching 4 finals and a reserve in the other 2. His best finish came in the 100 Freestyle where he came 5th and  broke the English record which had stood for over 20 years. The club are extremely proud of Nathan and delighted that we were able to continue to represent GB at major Championships. I am sure his achievements will be an inspiration for our younger swimmers for future events.

Congratulations to all our recent record breakers.  Alice Kinsey (12) continues to excel at Breaststroke beating her own 50  short course record while also 12 Jess Goodwin participated in her fist long course events where she broke 7 age group Cat A records over the summer (50/100/400 Free, 50/100 Back, 100 Fly & 200 I.M.) William Phair (12) impressed with records at 50 Back both long and short as well as 50 Fly short course. Our category B swimmers continue to raise the bar with Nathan Carrington  setting his first record as a 12 year old  with the grueling 800 freestyle short course.  Libby Gotta picked up 50 Freestyle  long course and her first as a 15 year old but finished of as a 14 year old in style with a new GB National record in the 1500 freestyle short course. Fantastic and well done to everyone.
