Jack McComish (20) set new L/C GB records for both the 50 and 100 Freestyle while Danielle Joyce (19) continued her fine form in the backstroke setting another Deaf World Record of 30.87 in the 50M Long Course event.

18 year old Danielle Joyce warmed up for the forthcoming World Championships in Texas this August by grabbing her 9th Deaf World record at the Royal Commonwealth pool in Edinburgh on 29th May. Danielle's long course time  of 31.11 for 50 metres Backstroke equalled the world record set in 2009 by South Africa's Peggy De Villiers. While delighted with her progress Danielle realises that the heat and humidity in Texas will play a huge part in in any potential medal prospects.

Four GB swimmers are to receive financial support from their respective National Disability Sports bodies to help with costs of the World Championships in Texas. Disability Sports Wales started the ball rolling by helping the teams Welsh Athlete Emily Noden with £1000 and Disability Sports Scotland has now agreed to support the 3 Scottish swimmers Jack McComish, Danielle Joyce and Lucy Walkup with £300 each. this is a fantastic gesture by both and is reassuring to know that deaf sport is being supported by Disability Sports and GBDSC thank them for their generosity.
