 Congratulations to Libby Gotta (13) receiving Bronze in the 400 I.M. 14 years age group at the South East Regional Championships held at the K2 Crawley. Libby set a new GB Age group record in the process and it was very pleasing to see an individual strobe starting light at Libby's block for the race which makes such a difference to our swimmers. All parents should be making sure event organisers are aware via their coaches when entries are submitted that they have a hearing impaired swimmer who needs a starting light. Any problems please contact any of the Executive committee.
Congratulations to our latest record breakers, 10 year old Nathan Carrington continues to impress as a breaststroker setting new long course records 50/100 & 200 in the 11& under age group. Libby Gotta again continues to set more records this time in the 200 breast, 200 & 400 IM all long course with Letisha Ellis also 13 setting age group records in 50 & 100 Breast. Kieron Harris set 15 year age group records in 100 & 200 Backstroke in the short course pool while Senior swimmer Oliver Kenny impressed with GB National records also in the 100 & 200 Backstroke but this time long course. Remember to check if you have a record and send details to records keeper. Well done everyone.
The 5th World championships will be held in Brazil next year in Sao Paulo. The coaches have been deliberating over the standard expected to attend such a prestigious event and have now agreed on the GB Qualifying times Good luck to everyone hoping to achieve these.
