Congratulations to Danielle Joyce on winning the Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Youth Award at the ceremony held in Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 29th November. The award is a well deserved and fitting end to a fantastic year for Danii who, following ratification of her most recent swims in Manchester, will now hold an incredible 8 Deaf World records. The Youth award was sponsored by NDCS who made the presentation. Congratulations also to The Jordan-Caws family who just missed out as the Fans of the year having made the final shortlist. GBDSC also congratulates the organisers of the event and especially all the deaf sportsmen and women who have made it a very successful 2 years in Deaf Sport.

Full results and S15 times can be seen on our results page. 56 personal best times were achieved by our swimmers. Kieron Harris (12) set 4 age group records in the 50 & 100 freestyle, 100 Backstroke and 100 Fly. Jack McComish set new GB National records in the 50 Free as well as the 50 & 100 Fly records having elected this stroke as lead off swimmer in the freestyle relay. Jack also set a new European record in the 200 I.M. Danielle Joyce (18) set a new GB National record in the 100 Fly and set new World Records in both the 100 Backstroke & 400 Free. Danii capped off an excellent weekend by picking up the Top award for Youth Swimmers
Head Coach Sam Chamberlain had the pleasure of selecting the GBDSC team to represent Britain at the World Championships to be held in San Antonio, Texas 17-22 August 2015. The team were informed at the National Disability Championships held in Manchester over the weekend. the 15 strong team is as follows
Male James Webster (22), Tom Baxter (21), Jack McComish (19), Luke Nisted (18), Oliver Kenny (17), Nathan Young (15), Kieran Holdbrook (15) Matthew Oaten (15). Female Danielle Joyce (18), Emily Noden (18), Lucy Walkup (18), Polly Saines (16), Emma Lees (15) Jasmine Seamarks (14) Ciara Tappenden (13) Well done to all the S15 swimmers who attended the DSE National short course championships in Manchester. Excellent personal best times achieved including many Age Group and British records as well as European records for Danielle Joyce & Jack McComish. Danielle capped off an excellent weekend breaking 2 World Records and scooped the top prize in the Youth category.
