Messages of support

With gratitude to the Di Walker Charitable Foundation — standing behind every Deaflympics GB athlete.
We’re thrilled to share some incredible news that has brought a huge wave of relief and gratitude across GBDSC Deaflympics team. Thanks to the generosity of the Di Walker Charitable Foundation, our team has received full funding support for the upcoming Deaflympics — a contribution that makes an enormous difference to every one of us preparing for the Deaflympics.
This amazing opportunity began when Di Walker first heard about Nathan Carrington, one of our athletes, through a contact who happened to be one of his Sixth Form teachers. After a conversation about Nathan’s journey and the financial challenges our athletes often face, Di was inspired to go one step further. Instead of supporting just one athlete, she decided she wanted to help the entire team — ensuring everyone could focus on training, preparation, and performance rather than the financial strain of getting there.
This act of kindness has truly lifted a weight off our shoulders. It’s not just financial support — it’s a message of belief, encouragement, and community spirit that fuels us as we continue our journey to the Deaflympics.
We are excited to invite Di to join us at our October training weekend, where we’ll have the chance to thank her in person and show just how much her generosity means to us all.
From everyone at  GBDSC — thank you, Di Walker Charitable Foundation, for your incredible support. Your generosity reminds us that behind every athlete stands a community that believes in their dreams.
